I have been away from my website for a while and I am not sure if I did add customization to the Parent theme. How can I check to see if there are customization to the Parent theme?

Also, where are the steps or guide showing how to update the Parent theme?

I apologize. I need the update for the theme itself. But I am using a child theme with customizations and I do not want to override it.

I need help finding where I can get the update and how to install it properly.

Can you tell me which directory I should enter the code? Does it go in the parent or child theme and then function.php? I tried both and I get a sparse code.
