I am updating the author’s steps. He mentioned above that I should deactivate the WP Bakery Composer. When I did that and followed his steps, it does not work.
You have to “delete” the plugin, then go to Appearance > Install Plugins, then reinstall the WP Bakery Composer. Now, you can hit Activate or go back to the Plugin screen and activate WP Bakery Composer there.
Once I made that small change, it updated perfectly.
When I and the hoster uploaded the updated theme, some of the pages did not load properly like it was missing the styles or custom coding. Therefore, I had to upload the backup I made of the site.
So, right now, I still have files that are out of date.
