Hello there
we are experiencing the following problem:
We used two filters
1. an attribute filter (Formats)
2. a custom taxonomy filter (Artists Involved)as you can see in https://www.staging1.rarenoiserecords.com/releases/
We are witnessing the following problems
1. the Custom Taxonomy Filter only works as ‘And’ filter and not as ‘Or’ filter
(to replicate try and select two different entries – the second will replace the first etc)Example : Choose Artist Adam Rudolph then choose Artist Alexis Marcelo. Adam Rudolph is discarded . This is unexpected because our Custom Taxonomy FILTER is set to be OR
2. The Custom taxonomy filter can only be used in combination with the Format filter if a value of the Format filter is selected first.
Example 1 : Choose Format ‘CD’ then choose Artist Involved ‘Adam Rudolph’ : WORKS
Example 2 : Choose Format ‘CD’ then add Format ‘VINYL’ (This works, format is OR) then choose Artist Involved Adam Rudolph : WORKS
Example 3 : Choose Format ‘CD’ then add Format ‘VINYL’ (This works, format is OR) then choose Artist Involved Adam Rudolph then choose Artist Involved Alexis Marcelo. In this case Alexis Marcelo replaces Adam Rudolph (see problem 1)), but the Format filtering stays : WORKS (but confirms problem 1))
Example 4 : Choose Artist Adam Rudolph first then choose Format CD : the Artist Involved (custom Tax) filter is lost and only the Format filter remains : DOES NOT WORK / PROBLEM
For your interest: if we replace the Custom Taxonomy filter with a product_tag filter (our custom tax filter is defined to be exactly like a product_tab – non hierarchical etc) Example 4 does not occur : the product tag filter can be applied first followed by the format filter without any issues, e.g. the two are commutative , and the order does not matter.
I think there may be a bug (or more) in your custom tax filter – please let us know what your conclusions are
We will send you login details privately when you respond.
Cheers
