Brand primary color in theme settings not respected

i’ve set a color under theme options – > color & typography and the setting “brand primary” but it is not respected in the front end.

See my screenshots. I guess this setting is to control the green accent color ?

this should be easy to reproduce for you if it is a bug, otherwise please advise
im running as a child theme but it is the same if i run the parent theme directly
