It eventually all worked out with this custom css:

.woocommerce ul.wc-tabs::after {
height:auto !important;
}

.woocommerce ul.wc-tabs {
width:auto !important;
}

.woocommerce .woocommerce-tabs .tab-content {
width: 80%;
float: left;
}
