Update not available

Hi,
I have received an email from Envato.
They say there is an update for WOOW theme.
But when logged in to wp-admin it just don’t show that.

Sure there is the manual update process.

But My wonder,
If by accident i would bypass the email reading, how would i know there is an update of the theme?

Or, is it really necessary need to update the theme? Is the update e-mail valid?
