Product Category Grid

Hi how can I get the Product Category Grid to show only 2 cells or 3 cells on the same row? Right now if you have 3 categories it show the first one big on the left and the other two are split in half occupying the right side, how do I make it show only 2 big squares in the same row and the same to show 3 big squares in one row?

For example instead of the attached configuration how can I have two big images like the one on the left? same thing how to do to have 3 big images in a row?

for example from your sample, instead of having the two categories shorter and split on the top right hand side row, having only the big one on the left, another big one on the right and the three ones on the bottom, how do I do that?
