How to remove the featured image and post date from Post page only

Hi. I don’t like how the featured image appears on the post page. It’s too large, and I cannot get the caption to appear.

I’d rather use the Visual Composer to place the image manually for each post … but not for WooCommerce posts.

How do I remove the featured image and the post date on the post page only?

But I DO WANT the featured image thumbnail and date to appear on a masonry grid page, like this one:
