Change comments text and icon?

Hi, on the blog archive page and individual blog posts, how do I change the comment meta text from ‘0 Comment, X Comment, XX Comments’ to instead say ‘Reply, X Reply, XX Replies’?

Also, how can I change the outlined icon fa-comments-o to use the solid fa-comments instead?

I’ve tried to both use a child theme and editing the functions.php of the parent, but no matter what code I change they never show on the live site.
