I also have a similar issue. I have tried adding the code snippet to the functions.php file in my child theme but it does not seem to make any difference.

What I want is for the ordering on the front end to be exactly the same as it is in the products listing in admin for a particular category. I have selected the ‘Default sorting (custom ordering + name)’ option in WooCommerce and use drag and drop to sort products in a category.
