These improvements to WC will help with thumbnails automatically generating correctly after an update as well as declaring WC Support. Declaring WC Support will help when we are using custom overrides.

If these links can be implemented into the Luxury themes, perhaps it would help reduce the issues we/website owners face when we update the themes.
