How to make WC Single Product Excerpt show with Product Variation Attributes

So we have products where you can choose on or the other of something – a variation – and I built a custom product page – and it looks great on everything except the ones that have variations, if a product has a variation the Single Product Excerpt disappears. How do I fix this?
